We provide need-based music scholarships so students of all ages can access private lessons, ensembles, and group programs — regardless of financial barriers. Scholarships may support instruction at Guitar Shed or other partner programs across Atlanta's music community.

Jaminals is an early childhood music class for ages 1–6, built around rhythm, movement, play, and connection. Roots of Rhythm supports community access to Jaminals so every family can give their child a joyful, low-barrier first experience with music.

Black History
month
Each year, Roots of Rhythm presents interactive music programs celebrating the contributions of Black musicians to American music. The focus shifts annually — past programs have explored jazz history, the music of New Orleans, and the legacy of Sly and the Family Stone — with students engaging through listening, storytelling, rhythm activities, and live instrument demonstrations.

Lanta Gras is a Mardi Gras-inspired parade and neighborhood celebration rooted in Kirkwood. It brings together residents, businesses, schools, and local organizations to celebrate community and raise money for music scholarships — with a permanent home under the Roots of Rhythm Foundation.
